DCM Policies
- All lessons are by appointment.
- A one-time registration fee of $15 will be applied at the time of registration.
- Lesson fees do not include teaching materials such as books or instruments.
- All lesson fees are due, in full, on the first lesson of each month/term. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, post-dated cheques, e-transfers and credit card via the Student Portal. NSF cheques will incur a $45 fee.
- Accounts that are 15 days past due incur an automatic $10 late payment fee. Accounts that are 30 days past due are subject to suspension of lessons.
- In the event of an overdue invoice, DCM reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for the outstanding balance.
Lesson Cancellations
- All cancellations must be made through the Student Portal a minimum of 24 hours before the lesson. This will ensure that your teacher’s schedule is instantly updated and they are notified about the cancellation without a delay.
- Cancelled lessons will be automatically switched to make-up lesson credits.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be marked as “Absent. No make-up lesson”.
- To cancel lessons without charges or requring a make-up lesson, notice must be given a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the end of the previous month.
- Each student can receive up to 5 make-up lesson credits per term (Term 1: September-January, Term 2: February-June). These credits will be in addition to any lessons rescheduled by the teacher.
- Make-up lessons must be completed within 150 days of the original lesson date. Please check the Student Portal Calendar to register for a make-up lesson time slot that would work best with your schedule. If no time is available with your teacher, your makeup lesson may be scheduled with another teacher.
- Unscheduled make-up lesson credits automatically expire after 150 days.
- Make up lessons cannot be taken in lieu of a regularly scheduled lesson or credited towards regularly scheduled lessons.
- Should you choose to take a temporary break from lessons, unused make-up lesson credits will be held for you for a period of 2 months. After that time, all unused credits will be considered forfeited.
- We hold the right to provide a substitute teacher if your regular teacher is unavailable.
- To discontinue lessons, notice must be submitted by email 4 weeks in advance. If you have paid for a Full Term, all lessons within the term will be recalculated using the monthly lesson rate. The remainder of the lesson fees will be then refunded starting from the following month. Any unused make-up credits will be considered forfeited.
- In the event of severe weather conditions requiring the cancellation of lessons, students will be contacted through the Student Portal. Please also check our social media for updates. Lessons cancelled due to power outages or weather conditions will be rescheduled.
- We reserve the right to withdraw a student from lessons based on lack of interest, poor attitude and/or behaviour, numerous missed lessons, unpaid lesson fees or difficult parents.

Cookies
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
